Richard Castelow Close Contact Saddle XL Fancy Stitch Vespucci Reins

Richard Castelow Close Contact Saddle: $950

High-end, English-made saddle in great condition. Custom made for a Thoroughbred and his taller rider, this saddle is a steal of a deal! Meticulously maintained, with buttery-soft leather and stored indoors its entire life. The saddle does have cosmetic wear in the form of discoloration on the knee rolls and seat, but there are no other flaws — this saddle is in excellent working condition and will last for many years to come. The details:

  • 17″ seat
  • Medium narrow gullet (4″ dot to dot)
  • 14.5″ flap, measured from the bottom of stirrup bar

Asking $950 including shipping to the continental U.S., but very open to offers!

This saddle has been in storage for over a year, and needs to go. All proceeds will go directly to Moiya’s day to day care (board, shoes, vet bills, etc.) as this was her late owner’s saddle.

XL Fancy Stitch Vespucci Reins: $65

Asking $65 shipped, my loss is your gain! Open to offers.

  1. Just an FYI if you ever need to wash some sheekskin, use shampoo. I throw my half pads in the washing maching on delicate and use shampoo instead of detergent. I usually use the vetrolin shampoo since that’s what I have that’s not colored, but anything will work. I’d steer away from quick silver in case it doesn’t rinse fully. You don’t want to turn it purple.
