2016 was not a banner year for this blog — I posted sporadically, and there were weeks that went by without a peep. I really want to change that this year, but I’m still having trouble getting back in the groove, so to speak. It’s winter, and in all honesty, not that much is happening. But that’s half the fun of equestrian blogging: ya’ll can totally relate. So in an effort to get myself to sit down and actually write something, I’m starting a weekly series about what’s going on in my life outside of horses.
Wow, I have so many updates for ya’ll! It’s been way to long since my last post, but I’m finally settled in enough after our whirlwind start to October to sit down and talk about all the awesome that’s happened. To start, I’m backing all the way up to our vacation last week in Georgia. We’ve been planning this trip for over a year, and both my husband and I were really excited. Our plan was to fly to Atlanta for one night, drive to Athens for a night and then spend a few days on the coast in Savannah.
This is just a quick and dirty recap of all that’s gone on in the last few weeks — it’s been a whirlwind for sure. Lots of highs and lows, but that’s life. My riding has been sporadic at best, but I’ve still managed to fit in some quality pony time (thank goodness).
2015 has been a year full of ups and downs for me so far. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about who and what is most important to me and whether or not I’m living my life every day in the best way possible. I’m finding that my thoughts leave me with many more questions than answers, and part of me is very frustrated that a clear path hasn’t presented itself yet. But regardless of what the future holds, I’m working hard to enjoy today. In fact, I have a lot to be thankful for… a whole heck of a lot. So while some people are stretching their thanks out over the entire month, I’m writing down 30 things I’m thankful for right now. Today. This very minute.
