2017 Mid-Year Goals Review

Each year I’ve blogged, I’ve set out yearly goals. At first I did quarterly reviews, but last year I completely fell off the bandwagon and didn’t do any goal reviews at all. My process for setting and evaluating goals is a very personal one that tends to change from year to year — while I love goals and I think writing them down helps me stay motivated and focused, I’ve also learned that the best way to make God laugh is to tell him your plans.

But I’ve always loved dogs (well, animals in general really) and my husband did grow up with dogs. Tips for Desensitizing Your Puppy

Horses and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly — almost all horse people are also dog people. I’ve always loved dogs, but I didn’t become a dog owner until I was an adult; growing up in the city my family always had cats. Our first dog, Rocky, was just about the easiest puppy you could ever have, while Kona (our new labradoodle) is much more of your typical puppy, From puppy #1 to puppy #2, we learned a lot, and one thing we did differently with Kona was immediately enroll her in puppy preschool, where we learned some great tips on desensitizing your puppy.

The ‘Burgh

Last weekend I indulged my husband and went on a short trip to Pittsburgh to watch baseball. He comes to all my horse shows, so a few times a year we travel to see his favorite team (the Atlanta Braves) play. Typically we go to Cincinnati… but I hate that city and somehow we always have some sort of comedy of errors that lead to a bad time. This year, we figured we’d go to Pittsburgh. It’s only one additional hour away, compared to Cinci, and neither of us had ever been. So on Friday morning we packed up and headed out.
