2014 Rewind: Q4 Goals Review

The last step in my year-end review is a final analysis of my goals. This year I worked hard to make realistic goals that would challenge me, yet still be attainable. I also added some new categories, including a bucket list and tack wishlist. Overall, I’m really, really pleased with how this worked out. I liked separating my riding goals from my showing aspirations because with horses, you just never know what’s going to happen and I hate feeling like I failed. And truly, this list is meant to set me up for success. Each goal led in a sort of step-ladder to the next and really helped me stick to a plan to improve. For me, the process isn’t complete by just writing down my goals; I also need to hold myself accountable but at the same time not get overwhelmed with all the things I have to do. So in addition to publishing my goals, I also reviewed them quarterly. I’ve found that four times a year is my “sweet spot,” which allows me to keep my goals in sight, but not feel like I have so much to do.

2014 Rewind: Blog Statistics

This is the first full year that I’ve been actively blogging and I’m proud to say that while I still have a long way to go to reach my goals and accomplish my dreams, Fly On Over was more successful this year than last! The marketing and communications professional in me loves to see the numbers of how well my website did, and of course since I’m also somewhat of a graphic designer I couldn’t help but make a pretty visual for ya’ll to make it more interesting. Enjoy!

2014 Rewind: Month by Month

Wow, ya’ll I can’t believe that 2014 is coming to an end! So much happened to me this past year, yet I can hardly believe it’s the end of December already! Last year I did an official year-end review and I really liked it, so I’m going to do it again starting with my favorite: a month by month recap. For those of you that haven’t been following along all year, it’s a chance to learn about what all we accomplished and the difficulties we faced. But what I love most about this sort of recap is that it allows me to almost relive the past year; by reading old posts, I remember how I felt. This year, I’m lucky enough to be able to see how much we really did accomplish and how far Miles and I have both come in 12 short months.

Equestrian Social Media Link Up

Over the last few weeks I’ve taken some time to talk about my favorite equestrian social media channels. I’ve explained why I love Twitter, shared the best Instagram accounts, discussed Pinterest and told you who I follow on Facebook. While there are definitely social media channels I’m not as intimately involved in like Tumblr, Google+ and YouTube, I hope you learned a little bit and found some new ways to get your equine fix online. And while following brands, national chains and small businesses provides coupons, product previews and endless entertainment, my favorite equestrians to follow on social media are you: my fellow bloggers! So do me a favor and publish your equestrian social media channels, and then link up below! I’d love to follow more of you, whether it’s your personal account [if you’d like to share!] or accounts for your blog.
